Hello! post #2 of january, and for the first theme of the year for DrawerGeeks is : Redneck. i was really excited about this theme, i think its one of the more interesting picks. i did however keep thinking about how rednecks gets the raw end of the deal as far as their stereotypical appearances. i mean, a lot of the time we draw comic book or sci-fi heroes and they all have an established look and design, but it’s when we get these subjective themes like caveman or redneck, it always draws out abstract and individual (and in this case unflattering and somewhat offensive) drawings. anyhoo, here’s my ridiculously generalized typical nascar lovin’, gun-totin’, deer huntin’, lawn- mowin’ redneck! enjoy! -myokom
Happy January! my first post (and hopefully many more) of the year. now that the holidays are over i will hopefully post on a more frequent basis. below is an illustration i partnered with for a website called Fist-a-cuffs. it is a voting elimination tournament where you team up with other illustrators to create a tag team, and in our case…TASTE TEST OF DEATH! my friends mike maihack and mike laughead created Cream & Sugah and The Mug respectively while i created Brewtality. despite the fact that our team rocks and would have kicked major butt in the tourney, for some reason we got overlooked or an email got lost in translation or something….it was still fun to collaborate and create a team worthy of going toe-to-toe with Demolition® or The Bushwackers®. -myokom
Lord Mullet was supposed to be in Episode 1 but he kept tripping over his cape and they eventually replaced him with Darth Maul. Oh well, maybe he’ll show up in the Clone Wars Computer Animated series (*annoyed eyeroll) or the Clone Wars Traditional Animated (*eyeroll but less annoyed) or even the Live Action Series coming who knows when (*sigh and headshake side-to-side). Anyway, it was a fun DrawerGeeks topic. -myokom
